I still haven't read the comic, but I will judge...
It’s probably telling that of all the jokes in the film - and there are a lot of jokes in this film - the funniest in my mind was a subtle, off-hand comment said during a crowd scene:
“Everyone is going to say the comic book is better than the movie”
It broke the fourth wall, it made a stark-yet-true prediction, it was a tell-tale sign of modern blockbuster cinema. In my...

The National Interview →
elmokeep:
Brooklyn quintet The National continue to garner critical accolades off the back of their new album High Violet at such rapid pace, they are beginning to resemble one of those little bowerbirds that decorate their nests with coloured bits of plastic; except in place of shiny plastic things, it’s the top of rock critical lists; and they are people, not birds. Read the rest? RELATED:...
thesensiblemule-deactivated2011 asked: I'm so jealous that you went to Glastonbury... and saw The National, amongst others who so infrequently come to Australia... Loving all the pictures and write ups :) Keep them coming!

Before Richard Ashcroft jumped off stage at...
…during an interview. And after 6 minutes as well. All in all, I think I got to hear more of Richard’s voice than some Splendour punters.
After the declaration that his new album (currently the worst reviewed album by consensus on Metacritic) would be “One of the biggest hip-hop records of all time”, I asked him about how he felt when lesser bands quote his work as...

So I am at the Roskilde Festival
I’m currently in the Media Centre trying despreatly to get some work done and organsie some interviews. In both cases, to no avail.
Still, I’ll start posting up some daily reports because this entrie festival is just made of weird. I ordered a meal and got a condom for free. There’s a set of swings that make electrnic music. The guards do the lindyhop for you. EVERYONE here is...

New Arcade Fire! And does anyone speak French...
So to start with, a simple plead: I have discovered that the one day I am in Paris is the one day Arcade Fire will also be there. My research shows that tickets are either sold out, yet to be sold, or my French is atrocious. So if anyone with the slightest bit of je ne sais quoi about their tongue contact me? In return: photos, setlists, reviews and that by me.
To sweeten the deal: Some new songs...
Mark Ronson - Circuit Breaker
Sometimes nostalgia does get the better of me. In this case, LOOK IT’S FUCKING LEGEND OF ZELDA IN MARK RONSON FORM!?!?!?!?!
Also it took me way too long to realise this existed.
